The English striker Everton Wayne Rooney helped to catch Briton David Rennie, who earned a million pounds by selling fake club merchandise. Reported by the Mirror.
The scammer was selling t-shirts with the forged signatures of football stars, including Rooney. The striker confirmed that his signature on one of the shirts were fake, and provided a sample of this mark.
Rennie was convicted of fraud on Friday, January 12, and will be sent to prison. His wife, who was also involved in the scheme, is awaiting the announcement of his punishment.
Rooney joined Everton in the summer of 2017 from “Manchester United”. In the “butterscotch” he began his career. In the current season on account of his 11 goals in 27 matches in all competitions.
