Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov declined to answer the question about which version of the poisoning of former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal put forward in Moscow. His words on Wednesday, March 14, the correspondent “Tapes.ru”.
“It’s not our job to make any version, especially on the part of the Kremlin. Because the Kremlin does not investigate incidents, moreover, which did not happen in our country”, — said Peskov.
Speaking about the threat of isolation of Russia, Peskov said he hoped common sense. “And what the other countries are at least thinking about whether there is any evidence, no, and how much can be justified any criticisms of Moscow. Common sense tells us and demonstrates that there were no grounds for such accusations can not be”, — said the press Secretary of the Russian President.
“As for British media, they showed their quality and in this story too. It is unlikely that they here deserve some attention as a reliable source of information, rather the opposite,” — said Peskov.
On March 4, former GRU Colonel who has been granted asylum in the United Kingdom in 2010, Sergei Skripal and his daughter was found unconscious in Salisbury. Currently both are in hospital in critical condition. According to the British side, they were poisoned with nerve agent. Prime Minister Theresa may has put forward an ultimatum to Moscow, according to which within 24 hours, the Russian side should most likely be attributed on the incident.
Newspaper the Independent, citing a source in the government reports that the British government is developing a plan of economic warfare against Russia.
