Rally in honor of the anniversary of the annexation of the Crimea began in Moscow

At the Manege square in Moscow began a rally-concert “Russia. Sevastopol. Crimea” in honour of the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol to Russia. On Sunday, March 18, reports TASS.

“Today we celebrate the reunification of the Crimea with Russia. Today we choose the President of Russia, and with us — the Crimea”, — declared moderator, opening the meeting.

Came to the rally people filled all Manezhnaya square, the Agency said. For performances with a large stage on the square also have video screens. At the same time in Moscow on the pediment of the Museum of Victory on Poklonnaya hill, were deployed lighting installations, dedicated to the anniversary of the annexation of Crimea.

On 18 March the Peninsula held the first-ever elections of the President of Russia.

On 14 March the President of Russia Vladimir Putin took part in a rally in Sevastopol. “Four years ago, you took a historic decision. Thanks to your decision Sevastopol and the Crimea returned to his native home of our common Motherland, our mother Russia,” — said the head of state.

Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 following a referendum. Kiev does not recognize the results of the plebiscite and considers part of its occupied territory. In Moscow, noted that the accession of the region conform to the norms of international law. Ukrainian authorities are also regularly accused Russia of involvement in the conflict in the Donbass. Moscow rejects these claims, citing a lack of evidence.
