Russian biathlete Anton Shipulin commented on his performance in the pursuit race at the eighth stage of the biathlon world Cup in Norwegian Holmenkollen. The conversation with the journalists took place in the program “match” on channel Match TV.

“Forces on the baton, no. Seriously, no strength. I would even gladly refused relay, would give the boys to run, pull. But I feel that I have such a chance will not” — said the athlete. In the pursuit race, held on March 17, Shipulin won the seventh place. First place was won by French biathlete Martin Fourcade, the second came to the finish the Italian Lucas Hofer. Third place went to Johannes boe.

March 11, falling on the track is not allowed Shipulin to claim the gold medal in the mass start in the previous world Cup stage in Finland. The Russian then won the third place. First to the finish came the Austrian Julian Eberhard, second place went to Fourcade.

On 8 March, the Russians won a victory in the sprint. Latvian Andrey Rastorguev and French biathlete Quentin Fillon-maillet took second and third places respectively.

In the overall standings, the Russian is in third place behind Norwegian BAA leader Fourcade. Shipulin did not participate in the Olympics in Pyeongchang, as it was not invited to the tournament by the International Olympic Committee without explanation.

A biathlon relay race with the participation of Russian athletes will start on 18 March at 16:45 Moscow time.
