Turkey will give a harsh response if the US will impose sanctions against it due to the purchase of Russian anti-aircraft missile complexes (AAMS) s-400 “Triumph”. This was stated by Turkish foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on CNN Türk.
“Ankara said the threat of Washington sanctions. United States adhere to incorrect approach at that time, as Turkey seeks to improve relations with this country,” he said. “It should be clearly understood that Turkey has not and will not” — he said, hinting that the country is not going to endure the attacks of other States.
Cavusoglu said that Turkey showed enough sensitivity to the issues of possible threats to its allies, when they concluded contracts with Russia. “We will monitor the s-400, and we won’t identify our allies as enemies,” he said.
The foreign Minister also said that the US refusal to supply American F-35 fighters Turkey or to change the visa regime between the two countries is also unacceptable.
In September 2017 it became known that Moscow and Ankara signed an agreement to supply Turkey systems s-400. The cost of the agreement is $ 2.5 billion, more than half of the amount will cover the Russian loan. 9 APR Turkey reaffirmed its decision despite American sanctions against Russia. Earlier at the request of Ankara delivery time accelerated and moved to July 2019.
