Former Minister of internal Affairs of Yakutia Jacob Stakhov received a suspended sentence and lost his title of major General of the police because of Mercedes Benz from the diamond company. On Monday, may 7, said the Investigative Committee in his Telegram channel.
Yakov Stakhov sentenced to four years conditionally for swindle with use of official position.
According to the UK, he illegally gave his relative a new Mercedes Benz, received the MIA for the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) as a sponsorship from the joint-stock company “ALROSA”.
The crime was committed in 2007, the car received husband own niece Stakhov, a resident of Zelenograd Sergei Dudin, says SakhaLife.
According to the investigation, Dudin asked the interior Minister to help to find him a used car of a representative class. The Minister appealed to the diamond company with a request for sponsorship to the authority. ALROSA has allocated a Toyota Land Cruiser and Mercedes Benz, which the train was sent to Zelenograd Dudin and there he registered the car in his name.
The crime came to light in 2012. In February of that year the Minister received a summons from the investigator, but Stakhov first went to the hospital and then snuck out “with the assistance of unidentified persons” and flew to Moscow. Four years later the former Minister suddenly appeared to the investigator and admitted his guilt in the abuse of power, and then fell under the Amnesty declared in connection with the 70th anniversary of Victory in the great Patriotic war.
However, in April 2017, the UK reclassified the charges on fraud and again attracted Stakhov to criminal liability.
After the verdict, the former Minister announced the intention to appeal. “Mercedes Benz was involved in operational activities. I sent the car in a secret unit in Moscow. The car has been issued to my relative Dudin for cover. And all the accusations are the machinations of my enemies. At the time I was attracted for corruption. Stakhov has headed the interior Ministry of Yakutia in 2006. Prior to that, he taught at the Academy of the interior Ministry and was the President’s representative in North Ossetia and Ingushetia.
