The ruling Armenia’s Republican party will ensure the election of the leader of the opposition, Deputy of the National Assembly Nikol Pashinyan, the required number of votes to elect him Prime Minister. On Monday, may 7, said the Vice-speaker of the Parliament, press-Secretary of the party Eduard Sharmazanov, reports TASS.
“We decided that we will provide the appropriate number of votes in addition to the election of may 8, premiered. We decided that someone from our faction will vote for Pashinian,” said Sharmazanov.
He did not specify how many Republicans will vote for the opposition.
The vote on the election of the Premier is scheduled for may 8. They will participate only candidate Nikol Pashinyan. During the first vote, which took place on may 1, he was the only candidate for the post, but the faction of the ruling Republican party refused to support it. In the end Pashinyan scored only 45 votes of deputies instead of the required 53. After an unsuccessful election, the opposition called for further unrest in the country, the next day the Republicans promised to change their decision.
