Confectionery Corporation Roshen, owned by Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has helped to equip air defense system (PVO) around Kiev and repair the complexes. This was stated by the Minister of defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak, in an interview with “Obozrevatel”.
According to him, previously, Ukraine had three rings of defense. “Then there was a period when policymakers thought that there is no threat and the weapon was sold or destroyed, though, by the way, was not old. For example, the 300th complex is in service with most units of the air defense of the Russian Federation”, — said the Poltorak.
According to the Minister, currently, Ukraine should focus on several directions, in particular on the creation of air defense systems, electronic warfare systems, modern anti-tank weapons, rocket launchers and artillery systems.
In April, the Center for the study of corruption and organized crime reported that Petro Poroshenko has retained control over experiencing serious financial problems by the factory Roshen in Lipetsk, despite promises to give the business to the trust property.
The Corporation Roshen includes companies in Ukraine, Lithuania and Hungary. After unsuccessful attempts to sell a stake in Roshen President of Ukraine in January 2016, gave it control of the Rothschild Trust.
