In autumn 2018 and spring 2019 third place in the manned Soyuz spacecraft heading to the ISS (International space station), will take a cargo container and, presumably, a tourist from the United Arab Emirates, told RIA Novosti several sources in the space industry.
Such a replacement, said one of the interlocutors, due to “migration for 2019 launch to the ISS multipurpose laboratory module “Science” and the related rejection of the increase in Russian space station crew to three people.”
“In connection with impossibility operatively to prepare the third member of the crew of the autumn, a place in the “Union” in October, will take a cargo container, and in the spring of 2019 is planned to provide a place to a space flight participant or tourist,” said the source.
“Science” along with created a “Dock” and scientific-power module should be the basis for the Russian national orbital station after stopping the operation of the ISS.
Today in space (in the period from 2001 to 2009) have been seven space tourists. The first of the tourists flew in space Dennis Tito. The last space tourist was guy Laliberte. One of the tourists, Charles Simonyi, made a space flight twice in 2007 and 2009.
