Moscow was disappointed by the decision of U.S. President Donald trump to unilaterally withdraw from the agreement on Iran. This is stated in the statement of the MFA of Russia published on the Agency’s website.
“Joint comprehensive plan of action (SVPD) is the most important multilateral agreement, approved by the resolution of the UN Security Council. It is not just the United States, and is the property of the whole international community, which have repeatedly confirmed their interest in its preservation and long-term sustainable implementation, — said the Minister. — Any reason to undermine SVPD is not and can not be. The action plan has proved its full capacity”.
The Agency expressed concern that “the United States once again act contrary to the opinion of the majority of the States and solely in their own selfish and temporal interests” flagrant violation of the norms of international law. “Announced on 8 may decision is a reaffirmation of the contractual engagements of Washington.
