The Central district court of Kemerovo has banned the video bloggers with channel Nemagia about a fire in shopping centre “Winter cherry”. This was reported on the website of the institution.
According to the Prosecutor, the Michael Pechersky and Alex Esculetin in the video “Tragedy in Kemerovo” disseminated inaccurate information about the number of those killed in the fire on 25 March 2018. In addition, the lawyers saw in the video calls for the destabilization of the situation in the Kemerovo region. “In the first 50 seconds of the video broadcast 3 record the number of bodies that are untrue,” reads the statement of claim.
In addition to the video, the Prosecutor drew attention to the entry of the caves in “Vkontakte”, where the man also pointed out incorrect information about the number of victims. The lawyer asked to ban this movie and to remove the post in social networks “in order to avoid moral strain of minors”.
On 28 April the court found the Prosecutor’s demands were reasonable and acknowledged the published information prohibited for distribution in Russia. The judge also gave bloggers a month to appeal the sentence.
A fire in TTS “the Winter cherry” has occurred on March 25. The building was not working emergency exits and warning system. Killed 60 people, most of them children. The investigation is considering several versions of what happened, including arson and faulty wiring. In the case arrested eight people.
The next day after the tragedy, bloggers channel Nemagia released a video in which they talked to the eyewitnesses and victims of the fire. In their recordings sounded the information that the shopping center “Winter cherry” could have been killed more people than reported in official sources. Some of the media felt that giving out inaccurate information, cave and Esculetin tried to gain more views and subscribers, so called bloggers “tropaeum”.
