Anders Besseberg: Russian biathlon Union
The President of the International biathlon Union (IBU) Anders Besseberg has expressed an opinion about the corruption, due to which the Tyumen were able to obtain the right to host the world Cup in 2021. His words are quoted by NRK.
“In the voting process interfered corruption. We believe that some of the delegates were promised money or help of training camps for their voices, but no one confirmed. I think a close vote gives less chance for corruption and fraud,” said Besseberg.
At the beginning of April to the IBU headquarters were searched. In WADA said Besseberg was involved in corruption schemes and got from the Russian side “briefcase full of dollars.” The Norwegian newspaper VG also reported that since 2011, he covered 65 controversial doping tests Russian biathletes.
