Residents of the city of Carpinteria (California, USA) complained about a strong odor from Maryanovich plantations, reports the Associated Press.
According to local residents, from the greenhouse in which marijuana is grown, “comes sunsettommy stink”. According to one of interlocutors of Agency, they Wake up at night from coughing and are forced to plug the gap in the door cushions, tightly close the Windows and burn incense.
“We don’t want grass stank, we need fresh air,” said one of the interviewed residents living near the greenhouses.
With the legalization of marijuana in the state of 1 January of this year in Carpinteria has issued more than 800 licenses for marijuana production, says the Agency. Just in the city, located near Los Angeles and is known for its beaches, wine and climate, is home to about 14 thousand people.
Currently in the United States the use of marijuana for recreational purposes is fully legal in nine States and the capital of the state of Washington. Under Federal law it still applies to illegal substances.
