Russian businessman Oleg Deripaska was forced to return three leased private aircraft business class because of the sanctions imposed on him by the US government. This writes the Agency Reuters.
Director of the company Freestream Ettehadieh Alireza (Alireza Ittihadieh) explained that business jets Gulfstream G550 owned banks Credit Suisse and Raiffeisen, and then through an intermediary has been leased to, controlled by Deripaska companies. According to him, these aircraft were used personally by Mr. Deripaska, as well as top management of his company.
Currently, the jets offered for sale at a price of 29.95 million US dollars each.
A representative of Credit Suisse refused to comment on the case, saying only that the Bank is working with international regulators in order to ensure that the sanctions regime. Raiffeisen referred to the law on banking secrecy, not to discuss the Affairs of their clients.
In a press-service of the company “RUSAL” declared that they refuse to review.
Beyond the control of the US government, the company can be punished by Washington, if it turns out that they concluded a significant transaction with a person or entity under the sanctions. In this regard, European banks are afraid to do business with Mr Deripaska or any of its associated companies.
USA in April 2018 has imposed sanctions against Russian businessmen, companies, officials and top managers of state corporations. The list includes company RUSAL, En+ and its owner Oleg Deripaska. Thereafter, the shares of “RUSAL” has collapsed, but by the end of April, their value increased again.
April 27, Deripaska agreed to step down from the Board of Directors to reduce the share of En+.
