Emelianenko’s chances of inclusion of MMA in the Olympics

The President of the MMA Union of Russia, fighter Fedor Emelianenko has estimated the chance of inclusion of mixed martial arts in the program of summer Olympic games. His words leads “Match TV”.

“Our sport popular throughout the world and a chance like this is, but this is already an international Federation”, — said Emelianenko. He also noted that Russian MMA will be introduced for doping control, which until now was absent.

“At all desire or reluctance, it will be done soon. We would like to test men, but, of course, there are certain financial difficulties”, — the fighter noted.

April 29, in the quarterfinals of the Grand Prix of Bellator, the Russian defeated American Frank Mir. Emelianenko knocked out in 48 seconds. In the semi-finals of the competition, the fighter will meet with Cheyl Sonnen.

For 41-year-old Emelianenko, this victory was the 37th in his career with five defeats. Sonnen stepped into the octagon 45 times, scoring 30 victories and suffered 15 defeats.
