Two Russian bomber-missile Tu-95 were intercepted by American F-22 fighter jets in international airspace off the coast of Alaska. About it reports CNN with reference to the representative of the joint command aerospace defense of North America Andrew Hennessy.
According to him, the Russian bombers flew into the zone of identification of air defense of the United States, which is located near the Western coast of Alaska North of the Aleutian Islands. He noted that the F-22 escorted the Russian aircraft until they left the specified area.
Hennessy added that the Tu-95 did not violate U.S. airspace. The TV channel said that the last time the U.S. air force has intercepted Russian aircraft on 3 may 2017.
