The American magazine Newsweek compared the new limo “Tuple” of President Vladimir Putin and Cadillac the leader of the USA of Donald trump.
The Russian “Tuple” recalls the British limousine Rolls-Royce Phantom and Rolls-Royce Ghost, the newspaper notes.
The US President inherited a limo nicknamed “the Beast” (The Beast) from his predecessor, Barack Obama. The eight-cylinder engine in Cadillac is not as powerful as twelve-in a new limousine for Putin. The weight of the “Beast” is 7.5 tons.
Vladimir Putin first used the new domestic limousine, created in the framework of the project “Cortege”, at the inauguration on 7 may. The vehicle length is of 6.62 meters, width two meters, height — 1,695 meters and a weight of 6.5 tons.
The head of state sat in a car near the Senate Palace, where his office and drove to the Grand Kremlin Palace through the Ivanovskaya square. The new Putin limo covered a distance of about 200 meters.
According to acting Minister of industry and trade Denis Manturov, commercial orders for cars “Tuple” will be open by early autumn. The machine will cost more than 10 million rubles, but “will definitely be cheaper at least by 20% than Rolls-Royce and Bentley,” said the Minister. In January, he said that the cost of production of cars of the project “Cortege” will start at six million rubles.
