During the protests, timed to the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem, Israeli soldiers killed several dozen Palestinians on the border with the Gaza strip. It is reported Associated Press Monday, may 14.
According to the Agency, killed 37 people. The Agency called it “the bloodiest day since the conflict began on the border of Israel and Gaza in 2014.”
In all the clashes injured more than 1.6 thousand people, the newspaper reports Hürriyet Daily News.
Peaceful protest on the Gaza border escalated into riots and clashes of protesters with Israeli troops in late March. The action was timed to the day of Nakba — Exodus from the territory, where in 1948 was created the state of Israel.
However, in recent days the protests have hardened in connection with the opening of the U.S. Embassy in Jerusalem. The decision to move the Embassy from tel Aviv to White house passed in December of last year.
Since the beginning of protests have killed 79 Palestinians, injured more than 2.2 thousand.
