The Kremlin reacted to the idea of deputies to be punished for sanctions compliance

The Kremlin will formulate a position on the draft law on responsibility for enforcement in Russia of U.S. sanctions after discussing the document in Parliament, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov. His words leads TASS on Monday, may 14.

“First there will be discussion [of the bill] in Parliament, then we can talk about the formation of some positions,” he said, commenting on the initiative of the deputies.

Earlier Monday in the state Duma was introduced a bill on criminal responsibility for the implementation of the requirements of the anti-sanctions on Russia. The document envisages punishment in the form of imprisonment for a term not exceeding four years, or compulsory works for the period, or a fine of up to 600 thousand rubles. Citizens who contribute to the introduction of restrictive measures is proposed to deprive of liberty for a term up to three years and fine in the amount up to 500 thousand rubles.

In mid-April in the lower house of Parliament introduced the bill in response to the sanctions the U.S. and other countries, it implies the right of the government to President’s decision to introduce a number of responses. Among them — restriction of the supply of alcohol, tobacco, drugs, technologies and equipment.
