The murderer of the Russian diplomat was sent to the penalty

In Iraq was sentenced to death by hanging of militants convicted of the murder of a Russian diplomat in 2006. It is reported by Al Sumaria, citing a representative of the Criminal court.

As noted in the document, the suspect confessed to kidnapping the four foreigners in the group of armed men. Then two of the victims were shot, others stabbed.

“The terrorist was involved in the murder of one of the Russian diplomats, and then together with members of an armed group, he dumped a body in the Tigris river”, — said the representative of the court. It is also noted that the man was sentenced in accordance with the law on combating terrorism.

In 2010 it was reported that a court in Baghdad also sentenced to death another one of the attackers. Before that, there was information about the elimination of even one involved in the crimes and death for another.

Militants attacked an armored vehicle of the Russian Embassy in Baghdad June 3, 2006. The attack killed an employee of Embassy Vitaly Titov, four — Agliulina Rinat, Anatoly Smirnov, Oleg Fedoseyev and the third Secretary Fyodor Zaitsev — captured, transplanted into the minibus and took away in an unknown direction.

19 June of the same year it became known about the ultimatum militants: they demanded 48 hours to withdraw from Chechnya Federal troops. After expiration, in the network appeared the video showing the execution of diplomats. A few days later, the Russian foreign Ministry officially confirmed that the captured Embassy staff dead.
