In the Kherson region started the division of the patrol police of the Crimea and Sevastopol. This is stated in the press service of the National police of Ukraine.
According to authorities, 65 police officers will patrol the three-border area: Henichesk, Kalanchak and Chaplinka. Law enforcement officers will also take control of the route connecting the mainland with the Peninsula.
At the end of April 2018, it was reported that in Kiev has announced a set of “patrol police of the Crimea and Sevastopol”. Plans to create a patrol unit became known in January.
Crimea and Sevastopol became part of Russia after the March 2014 referendum in which the majority of voters the inhabitants of these regions supported the decision. Kiev, the EU and the USA refused to recognize results of plebiscite. In Moscow insist that the accession of the region conform to the norms of international law.
