The captain of the Peru football Paolo Guerrero will not qualify for the world Cup in Russia due to the extension of Ineligibility for anti-doping rule violation. It is reported by Sky Sports.
In may a six-month disqualification Guerrero had to come to an end. However, the World anti-doping Agency (WADA) appealed to the court of arbitration for Sport (CAS) with the aim to extend sanctions against the football player. CAS upheld the WADA requirement, increasing the period of Ineligibility until January that will not allow the Peruvian to play in the world Cup in Russia.
May 14, representatives of the football Federation of Peru flew to the meeting with the forward in Brazil. Then the representatives of the national team announced the participation of striker in world Cup matches.
4 November 2017 Guerrero passed a positive doping test after meeting the qualifying tournament for the 2018 world Cup with Argentina. In the athlete’s body showed traces of cocaine.
