Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev announced plans to create in the near future the territory with a special legal regime on the island of Russian in Vladivostok and on the Oktyabrskiy island in Kaliningrad region. His words leads TASS.
“In Russia are already operating territories of priority development with a special legal regime. Quite a lot of them, including the Free port of Vladivostok. Very soon we plan to create special areas with special legal status and special tax regulation in Primorsky Krai and Kaliningrad region”, — said the head of government.
According to Medvedev, the best practices of advanced legal regulation, tested in experimental areas, can spread to the Russian economy as a whole.
Even more promising than the created zone, the Prime Minister said opportunities in the framework of supranational associations. In particular, he mentioned cooperation with Russian partners in the Eurasian economic Union, including “digital agenda”.
About the plans to create in Russia a special offshore zones became known on April 10. The government considers this method as a measure of support for sanctioned Russian oligarchs and their companies.
Later Vice-Premier and Plenipotentiary envoy of the President in the far East Yuri Trutnev insisted that offshore accounts should be created for all companies, not just placed under sanctions.
