The Federal Antimonopoly service (FAS) of Russia has stated that YouTube is not part of the Runet, therefore the law “About advertising” it is not covered. This is stated in the answer of the Deputy head of FAS Andrey Kashevarova to the appeal of the Association “Internet video”, reports on Wednesday, may 16, RBC.
The Supervisory authority recognizes the Runet “virtual territory of the Russian Federation”, but believes that it is possible to include only sites that are registered on the domain .ru, .su and .Russia, when as YouTube belongs to the domain .com.
Kashevarov said that the law on advertising applies to all types, if it is used in Russia. But, the official added, the Internet has the possibility, while in one country to access information in other countries.
As says the publication, in April, the Association of online-cinemas ivi.ru, Megago, TVZavr, Amediateka and TV1000Play noticed FAS on advertising online casinos on YouTube with captions in Russian, that is addressed to Russian speaking audience. Placement of materials on gambling, stressed the representatives of business, prohibited in Russia.
