Female transgender from Scotland complained to the store employees Debenhams because they were not allowed to try on clothes in the women’s locker room. About it reports “Interfax”.
Jay Campbell chose an evening dress for a wedding of a friend and went to the women’s dressing room. There she was stopped by the sales assistant and asked to go down to the floor below — in the men’s Department. Campbell explained that she is transgender, but it didn’t work.
“I was shocked that I need to explain! I was going to spend a bunch of money on a dress, but I was treated like a freak. Then I threw the dress in her face and went in House of Fraser after the other. There are very friendly and helpful staff. I will never go to Debenhams. They transphobe!” — told the indignant Campbell.
Representatives from Debenhams apologized to the woman and promised to deal with incompetent staff.
In April, a woman in a wheelchair was not able to try on clothes at the store Topshop due to the fact that the staff filled the remaining dressing after the sale things. When the 32-year-old Nina Grant found that changing rooms for people with disabilities cluttered with multiple outdoor hangers, she set to normal, but part of her chair and left outside.
