Nizhny Novgorod district court ordered the interior Ministry to 70 thousand rubles in favor of Alexander Dmitriev, who in 2011, two police officers broke his back during the torture. It is reported by the “Committee against torture”.
Dmitriev demanded two million rubles compensation. The defense will appeal the decision.
A resident of Nizhny Novgorod Alexander Dmitriev was detained March 6, 2011 on suspicion in theft of construction tools, which, as it turned out, he wasn’t involved. Police Aleksey Sokolov and Vadim Volkov was forced under torture to incriminate himself and his friend. During questioning, the man was beaten and used torture “an envelope” — he twisted his hands behind his back, handcuffed, bound my feet with a belt, is passed through the hands and feet of rope and pulled her back. During this process, the falcons got on the back of the detainee. Later the investigators again beat Dmitriev, when it became clear that his friend have an alibi.
Doctors diagnosed Nizhny Novgorod spine fracture, contusion of the lumbar region, brain concussion, abrasion polutsirkulnye wrists. Dmitriev became the invalid of II group.
March 2, 2017 Sokolov and Volkov were found guilty of abuse of power and use of violence and special means (paragraphs “a”, “b” part 3 article 286 of the criminal code). Both were sentenced to five years of General regime.
