Ukraine welcomed the launch of the TRANS-Anatolian gas pipeline (TANAP). About this in his Twitter wrote the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

“Ukraine can receive gas from TANAP through Bulgaria and Romania,” he said, adding that “now the whole region will gain greater energy security and better prospects.” “We see in recent years that Russia abused the resources of energy — “Nord stream-2″ is an example of such pressure. TANAP is energy security, including Europe,” said Poroshenko.

“TANAP is not only an entirely new project, but also opens up new sources of gas supply and enters them into the European energy system”, — summed up the Ukrainian leader.

Earlier on 12 June in the Turkish province of Eskisehir took place the solemn opening of the TRANS-Anatolian gas pipeline. TANAP is an alternative to the Russian project of gas supplies to Europe pipeline “Turkish stream”. The TRANS-Anatolian pipeline — part of the southern gas corridor. It is assumed that it will ship fuel from the Caspian region via Georgia and Turkey to the EU.
