From Murmansk went this year first tourist cruise to the North pole, a route which passes through the territory of the national Park “Russian Arctic” in the Arkhangelsk region. This was reported on the website of the organization.
12-day flight is operated by nuclear icebreaker “50 let Pobedy”. He is accompanied by a group of inspectors of the national Park, who will conduct tours and lectures to tourists and to monitor compliance with Russian environmental legislation.
“During the first flight the icebreaker will bring employees of the “Russian Arctic” on the island hooker. Six people during the summer will take a tour group in the Bay of the Pacific, to ensure the work of the most Northern in the world the post office and gift shop, will continue the construction work of residential buildings of the former polar station Tikhaya Bay and the rooms of the future visitor center of the national Park,” — said the press service.
Only in 2018 is planned ten cruises in the Arctic. According to estimates of the organization “Russian Arctic” this year will be visited by thousands of tourists.
The national Park “Russian Arctic” was established in 2009. In 2011 through its territory began to walk the Arctic cruises. For seven years the Park was visited by about 6.5 thousand tourists from more than 60 countries.
