The mayor of Kiev Vitali Klitschko plans to go to court to deal with debt “Kyivenergo” before “Naftogaz”. It is reported by his press service.
According to Klitschko, the city can not assume the debts of private companies that have accumulated more than one year. “The company “Naftogaz of Ukraine”, unfortunately, has decided to blackmail Kiev. Off the gas, until the debt of “Kyivenergo” will be returned to them. My position is clear — we need this conflict to be solved in the courts,” — said the mayor of Kiev.
Earlier, on 13 June, it was reported that more than a hundred communities in 16 regions of Ukraine may remain without gas if state regulators do not include the price of gas for end-consumers a fee for using the network of the company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” and its enterprises.
In early June the Kyiv city Council promised to take drastic measures against “Naftogaz” if he did not resume the supply of Ukrainian capital hot water. City leaders said that if before August 1, between “Naftogaz” and the enterprise “Kievteploenergo” there is no agreement for the supply of gas, part of the buildings of the capital might stay without electricity. Also in the city Council pointed to the fact that the heating season in Kiev was threatened.
