Russian youth (18 to 24 years) are twice as likely retirees criticized fellow citizens for their alleged negative traits. It is reported by the all-Russia centre of studying of public opinion (VTSIOM) on Thursday, June 14.
“The source of such differences, apparently, is associated with more diverse social experience that provide youth with travel and social networking, and its comparison with everyday life, — said the head of the practice of social simulation and forecasting of the Department of research of the center Yulia Baskakova. — In the mirror of the experience of the Russian people sometimes begins to look like lazy, rude, hypocritical”.
The research centre was dedicated to the image of the Russian people in the eyes of Russians. Respondents were asked to choose up to five answers to the question about adjectives that, in their opinion, best describe fellow citizens.
First place among the negative qualities, according to the survey, took a drink — 16 per cent. Among the study participants aged 18-24 years, Russian drinkers characterizes every fourth. And among respondents aged over 60 years is 11 percent.
A significant discrepancy is evident also in the eyes of young and old citizens to laziness. As the defining characteristics of the nation being mentioned by 19 percent of respondents under 24 years and only 11 percent of those over 60.
