Russian President Vladimir Putin called king of Spain Philip VI after the match between the two countries in the 1/8 finals of the world Cup. This told the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov, reports RIA Novosti.

“The President paid tribute to the skill and upper class of the Spanish team, however, stressing that this time the tactics chosen by the coaching staff of the Russians, proved to be more loyal,” — said Peskov.

According to him, Putin invited the king of Spain to visit Russia at any time. Philip VI, in turn, congratulated the Russian leader on the victory. It is noted that the leaders of Russia and Spain exchanged views on the development of bilateral relations.

The Russian team defeated the team of Spain and reached the quarter-finals of the world Cup. At the time the winner is not revealed, and in the penalty shoot more precisely was the Russian players — 4:3.
