The interior Minister of Germany and Chairman of the Bavarian Christian social Union (CSU) Horst Seehofer intends to leave his post. About it reports Reuters.
It is noted that Seehofer told about his plans at a closed meeting of the CSU. Officially, the resignation is not yet filed.
The chief of police in favour of more rigid immigration policy. He said that cannot move to the regular agenda without taking any action on the situation of migrants. According to the Agency, the party trying to dissuade Seehofer to leave the post.
Earlier the interior Minister said that he was tired to negotiate with Chancellor Angela Merkel, with whom he divergent views on the problem of illegal migration.
Between the CSU and the Christian democratic Union (CDU) Angela Merkel sparked the conflict on the issue of combating illegal migration. The Chancellor is promoting pan-European solutions to this problem, however, the Bavarian CSU and the head of the interior Ministry insist that undocumented migrants or already rejected for asylum in Germany were deployed on the German border.
Migration crisis broke out in Europe in 2015. According to the International organization for migration (IOM), in 2017 Italy received the largest number of refugees who arrived by sea, with more than 119 thousand people. Germany tried to accept a maximum of refugees into the country since then moved over 1.5 million people.
