Unknown threatened with death striker of the national team of Denmark’s Nicolai Jorgensen, who missed his kick in a penalty shootout in the match of 1/8 final of the world Cup with Croatia. This was reported in the Twitter account of the country’s football Federation.

“Enough. Our society should never take death threats sent to the stars of the world Cup, politicians or anyone else. This is absolutely unacceptable. We will report the case to the police to stop this madness”, — reads the statement of the Federation.

The meeting of the Danes and Croats ended with the score 1:1. During the series, Jorgensen went to the ball last, and his shot was repelled by goalkeeper Daniel subašić. After that, the Croat Ivan Rakitic converted a penalty that allowed his team to beat Denmark.

In the group stage the national team of Denmark played in group C, where they took second place. In 1/8 finals the team fell to Croatia, which was the first in group D. In the quarterfinals of the Croatia national team will play with owners of tournament — players from Russia.

The world Cup takes place from June 14 to July 15 in 11 cities of Russia.
