48-year-old Scott Donaldson (Scott Donaldson) became the first man, who single-handedly sailed from Australia to New Zealand by kayak. About it reports the portal of the new Zealand TVNZ.

The man started his way from the Australian city of Coffs harbour on 2 may.

“I need a shower,” said the kayaker as soon as he reached land. During the voyage the man had to fight a six-meter waves and flocks of aggressive sharks, which circled around his ship.

In new Plymouth on the coast of the North island of New Zealand it was expected by thousands of people who met kakera fireworks. His wife Sarah and eight-year-old son Zach, seeing Donaldson’s, ran into the water to embrace the traveler after a long separation.

Donaldson had already tried to make a similar trip in 2014, but after 84 days at sea was forced to ask for help just 80 kilometers from the target. To achieve his goal, he was nine years old.

The money he managed to collect in the campaign will be used to study asthma: the man himself is asthmatic.
