In Russia currently burns 1.32 million hectares of forest, according to the “Greenpeace of Russia”.

According to the organization, most of the fires accounted for Krasnoyarsk Krai, Yakutia and the Irkutsk region, where 91 per cent falls under the category of “fires objectors”, to extinguish which there are no funds. It is noted that the area covered by the fire in the forest five times the size of the capitals of all the countries that Russia has won the world championship on football of 2018.

“The satellite images is clearly visible as a plume of smoke from Siberian fires reaches Arctic latitudes, is a sign of a serious threat to our planet’s climate,” — said the head of the international fire project Greenpeace Anton Bereslavsky. He added that record the extent of the fires this year will have a strong influence on the climate.

Since the beginning of the year in Russia burned 10 million hectares of forest — an area comparable to the area 14 million football fields, say environmentalists. They emphasize that the forest Fund of the country received more damage only in 2003 and 2008.

In June the Siberian fires left burning for nearly a week. As a result of their area in the Angara region amounted to 15.2 thousand hectares of smoke enveloped all the settlements.
