UK police have arrested a nurse on suspicion of murder of eight babies in Cheshire, reports the Daily Mail.
Woman, position of which is omitted, is also suspected of attempting to kill six infants. According to investigator Paul Hughes, her arrest is a big step in the investigation of the deaths of 17 babies and another 15 incidents that resulted in death, in 2015-2016.
As writes the edition, the management of the County hospital contacted police after checking the Royal College of paediatrics and child health have not found reasons for the increased mortality among newborns. From 2015 to 2016 died there 17 children, while in 2014 and 2013 died only five babies.
It is noted that in order to seek help from the authorities, the hospital conducted several independent investigations into the deaths of infants allegedly due to the negligence of employees. Parents of dead children have specialized assistance.
