The Russian government will create a special coordinating body to manage the development of the Russian Arctic. This was stated by RIA Novosti Deputy Prime Minister, presidential envoy in the far Eastern Federal district Yuri Trutnev.
According to him, all existing and prospective directions of work in the Arctic region will connect into one system.
“Such work is for the Far East held, once again I say that it can be criticised, it is necessary to improve every day. But the development of the Far East is today,” said Trutnev.
According to the Vice Premier, currently in the far North has many organizations, but between them there is no proper relationship, as there is no proper state influence on these processes. For example, separate the issues of nature and ecologists, indigenous peoples, separately — the construction of icebreakers and ships the transaction, and so on. In addition, in the Arctic there are seven international organizations. All these activities must be skillfully coordinated.
Trutnev stressed that beyond the Arctic circle in particularly difficult living conditions millions of people is a serious challenge and a big responsibility that should not be forgotten.
