A resident of Moscow nearly lost his ring finger due to wedding ring — he climbed over the fence, caught them for the pin and fell. Jewelry broke the bone and almost cut off his finger — he was left hanging on the skin, according to “Moskovsky Komsomolets”.
The victim was taken to the hospital. Doctors managed to reattach the severed part of the body and almost completely restore the functioning of the palm.
“When the injury occurs scheletrone ring finger over a large area in the direction of the nail phalanx. Skin and soft tissue are collected, as “the glove”, so it is not possible to assess the viability of tissues,” explained the surgeon of City clinical hospital №4 Vladimir Voroninym. He added that the operation, despite the difficulties, was successful.
Injury finger rings are found in approximately 12-16 people per million per year, the newspaper notes.
