The Rosselkhoznadzor has denied rumors that the growing potatoes from their seeds will be charged an administrative fine. This is stated in the message on the Agency’s website.
“Due to recent media information that the citizens can grow in their plots of potatoes and other vegetable and fruit crops using seed from their own stocks or harvested on their private land, under threat of an administrative fine, the Rosselkhoznadzor considers it appropriate to clarify that such initiatives the service is not nominated,” says the Agency.
We are talking about the material published in the newspaper “Novye Izvestiya” of 6 July, from which it follows that according to the amendments to the Code of administrative offences, for planting, you cannot use your own potatoes and seeds. “If authorities learn of a violation, retired horticulturist will face a fine in the amount from 500 to 1,000 rubles,” — noted in the article.
The service explained that amendments to the administrative code reglamentary responsibility for the implementation of seeds and planting material of poor quality and of unknown origin in persons leading business activity, and do not relate to individuals who grow vegetables for their own needs.
