Greece will send two Russian diplomats

Greece has decided to expel two Russian diplomats, the two are forbidden to enter the country. This writes the newspaper Kathimerini.

The publication explains that they are accused of meddling in the internal Affairs of the state and illegal actions against national security of Greece. In particular, he is charged with “attempting to retrieve and disseminate information”, the bribery of Greek politicians and “coordinated efforts to expand Russia’s influence in Greece through the activities of the Imperial Orthodox Palestinian society.”

Approval of high-level sources, Athens insists on the immediate departure of the employee of the Embassy Viktor Yakovlev. The same sources claim that Greece still wants to maintain good relations with Russia and to promote the friendship between the two peoples.

On March 26, the United States declared persona non grata 60 Russian diplomats and decided to close the Consulate General in Seattle in connection with the poisoning of the former GRU Colonel Sergei Skripal and his daughter Julia. Also about the expulsion of employees of diplomatic missions announced Australia, Ukraine, Canada and more than a dozen EU countries. Then Greece refused to join the walkout.
