Members of the Legislative Assembly of Sevastopol supported the bill to raise the retirement age. On Wednesday, July 11, RIA Novosti reported.

Earlier Wednesday, the Chairman of the Council for human rights under the President Mikhail Fedotov, said that raising the retirement age should not become the sole purpose of the pension reform. In his opinion, necessary to take care of the increase in the collection of pension contributions and the cost efficiency of the Pension Fund.

In mid-June, the Cabinet announced a gradual increase in age of retirement: 65 years for men (by 2028) and up to 63 years for women (to 2034). Currently, the initiative of the Ministers is under consideration of the state Duma. MPs do not exclude the possibility of lowering the retirement age for women to 60 years.

The majority of Russians negatively perceive changes in pension legislation. This is evidenced by public opinion polls. In the political environment in this regard, urge the authorities to carefully evaluate all the possible consequences, and to consider the interests of citizens. Communication between the government and society intend to carry out the experts of the Public chamber (OP).
