Ukrainian officials have banned contact with Russia without coordination with the leadership of the country. This was stated by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman, was quoted by TASS.
“Please note, colleagues, that for any such things you must, first, respond immediately. Secondly, none of you has no mandate to conduct any talks with the country-aggressor and our enemy… And all things provocative queries and so forth please coordinate with the Ministry of foreign Affairs and to act only within the guidelines and mandates that you give the government,” — said Groisman at the meeting of the government.
His words apply to the letter, which was published July 10 in the newspaper “Ukrainian truth”. Its authorship is attributed to the energy Minister of Ukraine Ihor nasalyk to, and the message is allegedly addressed to the Deputy Director of the Russian “Rosatom” Kirill Komarov. It Nasalyk offers Russia cooperation in the nuclear sphere.
“Given the need for the resumption of some joint projects, in particular the project to create in Ukraine production of TVEL proposed to hold a meeting in Brussels in the period from 9 to 12 July,” the letter reads. We are talking about the plant for the production of nuclear fuel in Kirovohrad region, the joint construction of which was frozen in 2015. Also the message States that the office of Nasalyk interested in cooperation with Russia.
Later Nasalyk called the publication of the letter “set up” and presented another letter to the “Rosatom”, which deals about the readiness to discuss the implementation of joint projects with Russia.
At the government meeting on 11 July Nasalyk also stated about the falsification of his message, calling him a “fake.” However, the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada from the faction of the popular front demanded that the Ministry of energy to conduct an internal investigation of the incident.
