The Ministry of labour and social protection has pledged to combat age discrimination and to stand up for the elderly who will be laid off due to reaching retirement age. Deputy Minister Andrey Pudov promised to protect pensioners will face the Prosecutor’s office, which will check each firing. The words of the official quoted by TASS.
“We unloaded information on the personified accounting in respect of people of retirement age in large enterprises and took on the hard monitoring issues of downsizing and layoffs,” said the official, promising that the check will be for each fact.
To monitor the state of the labour market on the subject of the dismissal of the senior citizens Ministry of labor introduces monitoring at Federal and regional levels. Moreover, the Agency intends actually online to monitor the status of older workers.
“We on “Online inspection” is a portal where you can write a complaint, we can ask the prosecutors to make unscheduled inspections to see that people are discriminated by age”, — says the official.
The head of Rostrud Vsevolod Vukolov has previously expressed the view that older workers are a gift to employers, because workers will now have more incentive not to leave. Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in mid-June announced the holding of the next pension reform which will raise the retirement age by five years for men and eight for women.
