The U.S. threatened to impose sanctions against Russia, the EU and China in the case of new purchases of Iranian oil by them contrary to the prohibitions of Washington. This was announced by the Minister of Finance Steven Mnuchin, reports TASS.

“Our intention is to ensure the enforcement of the sanctions on Iranian oil, in respect of all, including China,” said Mnookin, speaking at a hearing of the Committee on financial services of the house of representatives of the Congress of the United States.

In turn, one of the legislators reminded the Minister that the United States is actually on the verge of a trade war with China. “Again: we intend to implement the sanctions against them [China], against Russia, against Europe and the other when it comes to Iranian oil,” — said in response Mnuchin.

In early July, Tehran claimed to have found a way to avoid the negative consequences of American sanctions, Iran’s government decided to allow private companies to supply the Iranian oil abroad. Washington had previously argued that it would impose restrictions against Iranian oil from 4 November.
