Ukraine must strengthen army and to negotiate in Budapest format to return to the Crimea. This was stated by Deputy of Parliament and head of the party “Fatherland” Yulia Tymoshenko.
According to her, Donbass and Crimea — the Ukrainian territory, and no one can lead a conversation about how to give her the part. Tymoshenko also urged not to allow “the shadow to the legalization of reunification of the Peninsula with Russia.”
The politician expressed regret due to the fact that Ukraine has not joined NATO after the signing of the Budapest Memorandum.
The Budapest Memorandum — a document that ensures compliance with the provisions of the CSCE Final act, UN Charter and the Treaty on the nonproliferation of nuclear weapons against Ukraine as non-nuclear-weapon state party to the Treaty. The document was signed on 5 December 1994 the leaders of Ukraine, USA, Russia and UK.
Crimea became part of Russia in March 2014 following a referendum in which the overwhelming majority of residents voted for joining Russia. Kiev and the West refused to recognize the results of the plebiscite. In Moscow, noted that the accession of the region conform to the norms of international law.
