President of Gabon Ali Bongo Ondimba at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Africa needs Russia. Transcript of the meeting published on the Kremlin website.
The African leader said that Russia is a big country which has much to bring to the benefit of the continent. “I came to tell you what you already know: Africa needs you,” said Ondimba.
He also noted that he highly appreciates the fact that Russia is concerned about the conflict in the Central African Republic, and considers important to join efforts for peace in the country.
In the Central African Republic in 2013 ongoing sectarian conflict. Then the representatives of the Muslim coalition Seleka seized the capital Bangui and overthrew President françois bozizé, a Christian. In response, the Christians created militias that began the massacre of Muslims.
