Netizens reacted to the photo that was taken during the speech of Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko at the NATO summit. The photo on the page in Facebook was published by the editor of the Ukrainian edition “Timer” Yuri Tkachev.

In the comments users made several assumptions why so few in the audience of people. Some felt that this shot captured the rehearsal performances, and others decided that all the journalists out to lunch.
On Friday, July 13, commenting on the visit to Brussels, Poroshenko declared that nobody can prevent Ukraine’s course for NATO membership. He noted that Kiev “is constantly approaching NATO membership” and no one “will not stop”.
Ukraine renounced its non-aligned status in December 2014. In June 2017 Kiev called foreign policy priority membership in NATO. However, in March this year, the special envoy of the US state Department for Affairs of Ukraine said that the country is not ready for NATO membership.
