Africans expelled from Russia for attempting to escape to Europe

Several foreigners, mostly citizens of African countries, expelled from Russia for trying to illegally get to Europe during the world Cup. On Monday, July 16, reported “Interfax” the first Deputy interior Minister of Russia Alexander Gorovoy.

“There were cases when they tried to cross the border. Broke and will be expelled from Russia. Now we are working on this issue with the embassies,” said Gorovoy.

According to media reports, during the period of the championship only in the Leningrad region was detained 24 alien who attempted to illegally travel to Western countries in search of a better life. Among them were citizens of Tunisia, Sudan, Eritrea, Senegal, Morocco, five of Ghanaians and four Nigerians. Also at the border were detained the natives of Iraq and Iran.

Most attempts to breach the border regime recorded in the Vyborg and Kingisepp districts of the region. 14 foreigners were in possession of a passport of a fan of the 2018 world Cup. In respect of all offenders were administrative reports, after which made a decision to deport them.

On 29 June it became known that employees of FSB have detained four Africans attempting to illegally cross the border of Russia and Norway. Among those detained were three Somalia citizens and one citizen of the Republic of Djibouti.
