In the state Duma a bill allowing the use of geolocation for mobile phones quick search for missing children. On Monday, July 16, RIA Novosti reported with reference to the press service of the author of the initiative, the Vice-speaker of the lower house of Parliament Irina Yarovaya.
The law is proposed to expedite the search for the missing child, allowing the use of geolocation data at the request of parents or guardians, based on the resolution of one of the leaders of the body exercising operational investigative activity.
If the SIM card is registered to someone else, you also need his written consent. It is assumed that the court must be notified of these actions within 24 hours.
According to Spring, the search for the child using the geolocation data is a low cost, but highly effective. “Geolocation data is obtained in the shortest possible time, is priceless, because the main thing is that focused on the efforts of the investigators is establishing the whereabouts of a missing child in the first hours”, — stated in the explanatory note to the bill.
In a press-service of the MP noted that the document has already been supported by the Ministry of communications of Russia, Ministry of internal Affairs of Russia, General Prosecutor’s office, Investigative Committee, justice Ministry and Roskomnadzor.
