The Minister of labour and social protection Maxim Topilin explained the need for pension reform, in particular, raising the retirement age. According to him, the government was faced with the last “window of opportunity” to carry out such changes. the Minister’s words leads to “Interfax”.

Topilin said that the current time is ideal for conducting the reform, as because of demographic pit 90-ies, the labour market tends to be significantly less than the Russians. “A few of them. The Minister of labour had previously announced that support for pensioners, the authorities intend to launch a large-scale programme of support and retraining of Russians of pre-retirement age. The cost of the program is estimated to five billions of rudders per year.
Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev announced a wide-ranging pension reform on 14 June. It includes raising the retirement age for men and women, as well as the increase in pension payments.
